The Sunpak MagMount system uses circular magnets to mount this Wide Angle converter lens on digital point-and-shoot zoom cameras. The lens is held in place by a powerful circular magnet at the rear of the converter lens and lets you get telephoto effects with most digital point-and-shoot cameras that lack threaded accessory rings. Fits 17-27mm camera lens diameters.

I've got an Aiptek HD 1080p video camera. It's great, except for the fact that the default minimum zoom gives you like 5 degrees to work with. But with this here lens I can see twice the amount I could before. It's probably not necessary for cameras that come with a decent view radius, but for cameras like mine it's almost like it was designed specifically for it. Not only does it fit perfectly, but there's zero loss in picture quality that I've noticed. I'm not exactly a professional film-maker so I couldn't tell you the nuances, but as an average person I can definitely say this is a good buy if you want to expand your camera's radius. Plus since it snaps on with a magnet it's easy to remove if you want to zoom in farther. I really can't think of a negative aside from its size; it's like twice as big around as my default lens.

Oh, also, the lens says .45x on it rather than .5x. I don't think most people would mind, but it's a point of...stuff.

Very handy item for my Aiptek. Does exactly what it says. It's pretty neat the way the lens magnetically sticks to the camera. The directions were slightly vague at first, but then I figured it out with aplomb and installation went well. Very pleased with the purchase.
